LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS is a response to the boredom and braindead stagnation that plagues modern gay culture. It’s a cut’n’paste makeshift zine for queer grrlies (and their friends) who are sick and tired of being associated with a community who, judging by 99% of its output, is governed by a complete lack of imagination. We believe it’s time to step beyond the self-loathing, gender identity defining, quarrelling and pervasive climate of misery they exist in, it’s time to change the fucking record and move on. Whilst there is no shortage of amazing contributors in music, writing, design, photography, film, events and general weird shit it is overshadowed by whinging old dykes who still aren’t happy because a civil partnership IS NOT THE SAME AS A MARRIAGE! Oh boo bloody hoo, the real tragedy is that the good shit might never reach most because people like you won’t shut the fuck up already. It’s time to shake off the shackles brought about through a history of taking ourselves too seriously. Strap in, fuck your gender and remember that not every decision you make has to be judged within an outdated and rigid political framework. Wanting to have some fun does not make you a traitor.
